Can you sum-up your year in just 6 words? I did. :)

Hello everybody

I discovered a phenomenon called the Six-Word Memoir Project, an endeavor of Larry Smith, creator of Smith Magazine, in which readers submit six-word entries on a variety of topics.

In this case, as a reader, you have six words, of your choosing, to use in crafting a statement that best captures the essence of whatever topic is the subject of the memoir. Since we're at the end of the year, our memoir project this time is Your Year in Review. Looking back over 2015, how would you best convey your experience of the past year using only six words?

"Never ending series of office parties" is one way to sum it up. :)

You can make it about your personal life, choose to make a statement about the world in general and your observation of it, comment on politics, the economy, the elections, etc. What aspects of this past year stand out for you?

As for me.....
When I reflect on my own life this past year, in many ways it's far better than I imagined it would be, even though it looks little like I imagined it would look. The older I become, the more I appreciate, and am truly grateful for, the simple things in life.

So, here is mine:

New house, bob, dresses and Šarka.

How about you?
What did this past year boil down to for you?

That is it.... for this year!

Before the calendar turns a new leaf over, before the social networking sites get flooded with messages, before the mobile networks get overcrowded by people sending their midnight "xoxo"'s .... let me take a quiet moment out to wish you a wonderful, happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Burda Wednesday: October 1958, part III

Hello everybody

Another year passed by, my dear friends; and we have had 51 Wednesdays featuring Burda magazine. This is our 52nd edition of this splash of glamour - last one for this year, but NOT last one all-together (not to worry, I plan to continue posting these fashion gems from the past).

You might already feel the warm feeling of forthcoming party, the one that will put together friends and family members in order to bid farewell to this year, to remember the great moments that it has given us; and to greet the coming year with hugs and smiles.. this little set of fashion-infused magazine pages can inspire you to do something.. new?!

Let's take a look:

We start off with some
major Cinderella vibe!

You need inspiration?
Here it is!

Blue ladies... looking adorable.

Knitting for him & her.

For those of you who love
the turtle-neck...

How about dressing-up
kids for the evening?

This little girl,
she's absolutely lovely.

Keeping warm is the key.

I say: this lady looks so stylish.
I fear white suit, I admit it
(due to "coffee accidents")

I hope some of you can read this and enjoy it.

I have a feeling THIS is what I look like
in the morning.. :)

When you have a shirt with a sleek back-side
you need a bra with a front-buttons.

Fashionable & elegant
Inspired, yet? :)

I know this is not one of the most-wanted gifts to receive,
but sometimes it IS needed,
and some ladies will find a vacuum quite a good gift to get.

..same goes with washing-machine
(but, to tell the truth:
it's a costly gift to give OR receive)

and a PERFECT way to end this year's pack:
with an "aaaaah"
on the curtains and delicate design..

Oki-doki. This is it, for this year of Burda magazines.
I sincerely hope your eyes have had a joyful view just like mine; and that you have some new and exciting things in your fashion schedule for next year...

I've done this a year ago..

 Hello everyone.

First of all:

To all of you out there, whom I find to be my friends,
I wish a very Merry Christmas!

This is the time of giving and the time of forgiving. So, please, if you can - give something, it does not need to be something you can eat, nor money; a hug at the right time might just do. And, please, forgive those who have done you some wrong - let go of the pain an sorrow, so you can have much more space in your hearts for joy and laughter!

Now, something I have done last year;
A corresponding year to 2016 is 1932,
so here's a little treat:

I have found these online, and tried to locate their origin, but failed
So: I honor who ever owns the original!

I know pages are a bit small for a poster printing size. However, These little gems of nature, if printed in this size, and glued on a little piece of cardboard, would make the perfect vintage - looking desk calendar.
I am fully aware that every "device" has a calendar that you can take a look at and take with you anywhere...

...but I'm an old-school gal  :)

..or you can do what I did:
print a custom-made calendar with
your dog's baby-photo

Whatever you chose to do - do it with a smile. As a matter of fact, why don't we all chose to smile more in the street?! That's an easy thing to commit to, and yet - it changes the world.
Huge holiday embrace!

Burda Wednesday: October 1958, part II

Hello everybody!

Oh, you all must be counting hours now, right? Your Christmas is so near, you can smell the roasting meat, ginger cookies and burning logs in the air. And, that is an amazing feeling, I'm sure. :)
We+ll wait a bit longer for our Christmas, but if someone passes by and offered us to some cookies, I will not refuse it. No, no... that would be rude. :)

Stop thinking about cookies.
Start thinking about fashion.

Here, my dear friends,
we are introduced to awarding program
and consumerism.

October was (and still is!)
the month for coats!

I don't know what to think about
this front-as-back looking coat on the left

Sporty and easy to wear.
These are put-on-and-go
kind of coats.

Lovely looking bottle
of hair spray.

The dress in the upper right corner is stylish

Both of these dresses
have interesting shapes.
They "design" your

"Come & conquer"
the blouse!

Sometimes it seems like we're obsessing
about our wardrobe,
but a good quality and a good fit of a blouse
make a LOT of difference.

I love old stocking commercials
all those legs :)

Ahh, the syrup-story..
One day I'll tell you all about my mother's struggle..

Looking dashing.

Men's wear.

I wanted to comment on having pimples,
but I was swoon by this smile!
(mommy, can I have one, please?!)
-No, dear.. we live in Eastern World-  :)

Let's play the "hanger games"
if you could, take your pick
what hanger number and what dress?

Glowing, sparkling, elegant.. ah!
Overwhelmingly gorgeous.

My word: this edition of Burda (this segment in particular) has featured some absolute favorites of mine. If I was to pick, from our "hanger games" - it would be hanger number 6, the last one. As much as I'd love to pick number one, the low wearing belt would not compliment my figure. As for number 6, the "!regency" cut just under the bust - perfectly makes soe parts of me.. little bit more (well, just: more existing)  :)
Come on, take your pick.
