BURDA Wednesday

Today, we're heading off to the World of Brides. :)

Every summer issue is showing us
these colorful and fun dirndls.

"The most beautiful evening dress for you"

This green dress would fit a ball,
a great event like something out of "Gone with the wind".

There's a joke going on these days: "It has rained only twice this summer. First time for 20 days. Second time for 30 days"
This is the year with most rain ever recorded, over here. We're seeing it every single day - and I say: I'm getting tired of it. I'd like some nice, summer days.

Sunshine, please.. come out.

A poetic Monday.. with a hop, and a skip and a jump.

Hello there!

I feel rather poetic today. The day is lovely, the sun is shining, and there's a sense of calamity in the air, that is seemingly unbreakable. On a fine summer day like this one, there's poetry in the hart of this vintage-loving lady. And I shall share it with you.

I found this poem so joyful and adorable, I had to share it with the world.
I do hope it made your Monday a better day.

Love story: One life to live

Hey, hey!

The rain has started last night, and it's still falling.
Unlike others, I don't frown upon it. I have much indoor duties that I have neglected (some letters must be written today), and I needed a day like this.
Sure, I like sunshine - just yesterday I lounged in the garden, tanning a bit.
But, a rainy day has it's advantages.

For instance, it makes love story sound even more romantic.

I hope you've enjoyed it.

House is a home

Hey there!

While ago I was happy to find out that another person whom I know is building a house. It gives me great pleasure to hear such news. And it gives me grand hopes, that one day it'll be my time.
I haven't yet went to see the home, but I'm sure it will, to it's owner, be the best place in the planet. I can only imagine the excitement that putting every brich into the wall must give. Building a house (like planting a tree) is something for the future. It lasts.

Here is another great plan for our consideration. Today's house is called:

Completed with the adorable rocking chair and hanging flower-baskets.
A dream-house.

The Dover model, offered by Montgomery Ward in their 1930 catalog, is a classic bungalow floor plan that is simplified and streamlined in design and ornamentation. The clean cross-gabled styling presages the stripped-down Colonial that would eventually be called minimal traditional.

I hope you've liked this..

I'm on therapy .. cycling is therapeutic.

Hello there, my Friday friends!

I have been going to "therapy" lately. A cycling-therapy. Once I step on the pedal I feel instant surge of energy, higher concentration, clearing of my thouhts. By the time I leave the town and enter outdoors my mind is open and then I breathe-in my surrounding.

Today, I would like to share with you what I see:
This was taken yesterday.

Does this look re-touched to you?
Indeed, it is. But, this is the only way for me to show you exactly how I percieve the world while I cycle. I have found some interesting data, you may take a look at it:
  1. On-going use of a bicycle has virtually NO carbon footprint.
  2. Bicycles increase mobility for those who can't afford motor transport.
  3. Bicycling can be faster than walking, transit or motor vehicles.
  4. Bicycling is the most energy efficient form of transportation ever invented.
  5. You get healthy exercise from bicycling.
  6. Save travel money by biking. If the switch is from a car this includes purchase price, gas, tires, fluids, insurance, maintenance, washing, parking, etc.
  7. Reduce stress by bicycling.
  8. Biking is therapeutic for the mind and spirit -- is fun and can make you happy.
  9. Cycling is therapeutic for the cardio-vascular system, live healthier.
  10. Regular cycling provides better muscle tone, bone mass improvement, clearer skin
  11. Regular bicycling helps with personal weight management -- new full-time bicycle commuters can expect to lose an average 13 pounds their first year of bicycle commuting if they maintain the same eating habits.
  12. Bicycling is a great initial activity for people who are obese and help them on their way to a healthier life.
  13. Regular cycling can lead to lower health care expenses -- save money for a nicer vacation.
  14. Allows the rider to appreciate the more of the nuances of the natural and built environment around them.
  15. The exercise increase your productivity at work
  16. Cycling improves your self-esteem.
  17. Bicycling is nearly a life-long activity.
  18. Cycling is low impact on the environment
  19. Reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
  20. Reduces water pollution -- bikes don't drip brake fluid, anti-freeze, transmission fluid, toxic dust, etc.
  21. Reduces noise pollution -- even without a muffler bikes are quiet, creating a quieter community.
  22. Bicycling gives you more fresh air than a sauna and you can still sweat and clean your pores
  23. Bicycles are a great means to see the world.
  24. Bicycling is cool.
  25. Biking Is Fun.

It does get better, troubles do wanish, problems became smaller, issues get answered.. It is simply the matter of finding that one "thing" that works for you.

Have a great weekend.
